"C'mon Son!" Stevie Wonder, a legendary musician, ideals romanticism perfectly. It's already seen, even to those who are unfamiliar to Stevie Wonder, that he is different. He's not your common musician or piano player to be specific. The most outspoken reason being that he is blind, obviously. However, his blindness isn't the only reason why he embodies romanticism. Stevie Wonder shows extreme passion while playing his music, and is able to connect to other people through it.
The Romanticism Movement, was based on self-reliance, and going against the norm. Also, it stressed the arts of music and literature. Stevie's devotion and commitment to his music has touched the many hearts of his fans. That right there is another example how he embodies Romanticism. Going back to his inability to see, he's not like other artist. He is rare, and considered a non-conformist. Stevie re-frames from being like everyone else. He ultimately feels his music. He doesn't see his keys. His passion for the music gives him the ability to feel for the keys, hitting the note when it's necessary.
Many may argue that Stevie Wonder wouldn't fit the person that embodies romanticism. Arguments have suggested that they say he's only special or different because he's blind. They seem to feel that he doesn't deserve the credit or props he deserves. Well, if that's the case, Stevie isn't blind, they are. How does he not deserve his props? At the fault of his retina disease, it's not his fault he's blind. Stevie Wonder demonstrates great emotion through his music.
Even in his early years, he was actively involved in his church choir. He grew up playing the piano, drums, harmonica, and the bass. The idea of his ROP disease frightened his parents. They thought he would never be able to do anything productive. Stevie thought otherwise, and connected through his parents and many more fans with his music. Bringing a whole new meaning to music, Stevie show exceptional ideals in Romanticism.
Therefore, Stevie Wonder was extremely talented and didn't listen to how people thought upon him. He played gigantic role as a non-conformist. He didn't want to be like the other stars, or musicians. He wanted to introduce a new meaning. He did what he thought was musically entertaining to him. It later opened a pathway to his fans, reaching them emotionally. Stevie Wonder, ideal image of Romanticism.
(Stevie Wonder receiving the Library of Congress Gershwin Award. It shows Romanticism cause he achieved high levels, and presented prestigious character.)

Day 4: Nothing New, But The Old

As I live amongst my new abiding virtue, I don't see any change? I believe I was living by this virtue this whole time. I've never been the type to engage in extreams, and partake injury. Even though the environment around me may participate in extreams, I tend to stick to the virtue, and ignore those unnecessary people or moments. My 1st period helps my flex and practice this virtue to the fullest due to the staggering amount of freshmen in that class. Their immaturity reflects strongly upon the extreams they partake in.
US History is another. Some students learning with me does the absolute MOST to try and show out. They argue with the teacher whenever they want to be heard. Too much, right? Introduction to Law and Justice can be that way also. People want the attention so they do the most to get it. American Literature... just makes me need my virtue even more. The teacher tells them what they should be doing, and they flip out and catch a mean attitude. My classmates need this virtue more than I do. Just another day, completed, avoiding extreams.

Enlightment Essay

Enlightenment-

The shift from the Puritan movement, to the Enlightenment movement became a straight-forward and beneficial in America's history. Who were the Puritans one may ask? Well, the Puritans were a group originating from the protestant church from England. Beginning their movement in the late 1600's, early 1700's. They didn't believe the way the Church ran, and what they preached. Therefore, the Puritans began to reform. To find the freedom of religion, they sailed to America. They began to believe that the God could reward the good, and punish the bad. They believed that everything someone does, would be to please their god.
Time flew, and at a certain point of time, believes by the puritans would be questioned, and doubted. This would officially begin the Enlightenment movement. This movement would establish that beliefs were based on reasoning. That people would be able to scientifically prove someones belief. It really disheveled the view on the world and religion. Beliefs would soon state that instead of waiting on a sign from God, like the Puritans would do, they would act upon certain measures. This would change how people acted upon God, and how they please their God. In which I believe was an improvement on how people think.
Therefore, The shift from the Puritan movement to the Enlightenment movement was a positive shift. It increased the logic of religion. If it wasn't for the Enlightenment movement, religion would not be open for logic. There wouldn't be religion such as Islamic, Christianity, etc. We would all believe the same thing. No way to look at the world differently. The Enlightenment movement to this day gives more reasoning. It shows that different views would and should be taken upon the world.
I chose this image because it shows the average human accepting enlightenment. It shows that the mind is open to reasoning. It shows that one is capable of what they believe, and developing a perspective. The darkness in the background represents the dullness and lack of individuality to not have a personal view.

Ethos, Pathos, & Logos

PATHOS
This advertisement extreme pathos. It shows that these sad, lonely, starving, tortured, and destroyed dogs need your help. It's explaining that they need your help, and your trust. Dog shelters and homes show great concern about the well-being of these dogs. Imagine the pain of these innocent animals.

ETHOS
This advertisement shows off ethos. Rajon Rondo, being one of the NBA's greatest point guards, is advertising Nike. Many people want to be him, or close to him. So since Rajon Rondo is advertising it, the Nike product is gaining the trust of viewers, and showing that this product is worth it. Seeing this myself wanted me to get Nike, due to the fact that a loved athlete is promoting it.
LOGOS
This advertisement shows the effect of logos. Being logos, it focuses on the data that every glass of  Mott's Apple Juice has two servings of real fruit juice. It's saying that logistics believe that this drink would be healthier, and more beneficial for people. It's using statistics to say it's healthy for everybody.

Full Meaning Accomplished.

My Ben Franklin virtue "Avoid extreams; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.," has accomplished it's full meaning in my perspective to me. Bottom line being, doing more than whats necessary can have harmful effects. Unnecessary actions may have consequences, leading to more and more drama. One should avoid these situations. One would surprisingly find themselves in a calm nature avoiding extreams.
It can really really really hurt someone. Whether it be physically, mentally, or emotionally. Feelings, being disguised 100% of the time, can be unknown to the public, including you. So avoid the inessential, and only do what is needed. It's understandable that one may say that sometimes doing more than what is asked is good. I totally agree, doing more extra sometimes is good. HOWEVER, I'm strictly talking about doing extra in activities that will launch into consequences. Which is what people seem to get themselves into "now-a-days."

Improved Meaning

My Ben Franklin virtue "Avoid extreams; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.," has gained new meaning by my perspective. It made me think that doing extra, unnecessary things, can really injure you physically and mentally. Many people don't stress the fact that you may cause excruciating pain to harm themselves, or even worse, others.
Sometimes, the injuries can be crucial, but nobody but that person can see that pain that he/she is dealing with. Now, I understand it may seem that I'm over-exaggerating, however I'm completely serious. Some may complain at the fact that it's not that serious, or propose my opinion of being a lie. However, It's that serious. Many people may get annoyed about the unnecessary acts one performs, and may end up hurt by others opinions. You just never know.
